Welcome to the homepage of the 2008 St. Agnes Academy Engineering Team!

St. Agnes has had an engineering team for more than 15 years. We have received various awards and recognitions throughout these years, and are always eager to face the new year. Engineering Team meets everyday during lunch and after school until about 4:30, depending on the amount of work we have to finish. We also meet every Sunday from about 10 AM to about 2 PM. - Yes, we meet a lot. We all love what we do and enjoy learning new skills and discovering hidden talents (such as dremmeling). For the past three years, we have won the Second Place BEST Award, and this year, we have made it four in a row. This year were awarded both the Second Place BEST Award as well as the award for Most Creative Design. In the robotics part of the competition, our team proceeded to the Semifinals, but encountered problems with one of our motor mounts on a wheel, making it impossible for us to proceed. We are extremely proud of our robot's performance at competition and believe our display was exceptional.

In the three and a half weeks until state/regional competition, we will be reworking our formal presentation, perfecting our robot, and building a much larger display. On local Competition Day, the problems that we encountered were a bad connection on the transmitting equipment on the field, and a faulty motor mount. In addition to resolving these problems, we are also changing the upper and lower layers of the forklift to make it more efficient and capable. Our display is now a ten-foot room that will have a wide variety of attractions, with computers playing slide shows and CAD images or our robot displaying our engineering process.
