Who I Am
Greetings, my name is Deborah Crank and I am a high school science teacher
at Saint Agnes Academy, an all-girls Catholic high school located in Houston, Texas. I was born and raised in Houston, but spent some of my early years living in Pennsylvania, Kentucky
and Morfelden, Germany. I have lived in Houston for the past 37 years. I graduated from Sharpstown High
School in
Houston (Class of 1977) and then attended the University
of Saint Thomas where I
received my B.A. degree in Biology and my M.Ed. in Secondary Education. I am certified
to teach secondary composite science.
I love to travel and have
visited 11 foreign countries and the 48 contiguous states. I am still waiting
for an opportunity to visit Alaska and Hawaii. I enjoy science fiction and read sci-fi books in my
spare time. Silverberg, Heinlein
and Asimov are some of my favorite authors.
In addition to teaching biology, marine
science and geology, I sponsor the Biology Club, Science Fiction Club and Medical Club at Saint Agnes Academy. I would love to hear from teachers who share my
enthusiasm for science and who would like to trade ideas on lessons, labs, and
club activities.
