
Biography
Diana Turney grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and is one of five children. She moved to Houston to go to college at the University of St. Thomas where she earned a BA in Communication and a MA in Theological Studies. She has taught in Catholic schools since she began teaching in 1990. She started at St. Agnes in 1993. She was drawn to St. Agnes because of its great reputation, and she has stayed because it is a fantastic place to work. She believes that the commitment to excellence is contagious, the young women and faculty are terrific, and there is a real commitment to social justice. She is presently in her 13th year of teaching Morality and Social Justice. She also teaches a senior elective entitled Healing Racism. Throughout her time at St. Agnes, she has also taught Catholicism and the senior electives Christian Lifestyles and Christian Parenting. She is very proud to be the chair of the theology department. She has serves in this position for the last nine years.
Diana Turney has been married for 16 years, and she has 3 wonderful children ages 15, 10, and 3. In her free time, she enjoys needlework and reading.
A life changing experience came when she was able to travel to Ghana, Africa with Catholic Relief Services. While in Ghana, she was able to catch a first hand glimpse of the incredible development work that Catholic Relief Services does throughout the world.
