I was born in Dallas, but I have lived in Houston since before I was a year old.  I attended St. Vincent de Paul School through the 6th grade and then transferred to St. Thomas More School for 7th and 8th grade.  I did attend SAA for the ninth grade but chose to transfer to a public school for the rest of high school.  Knowing what I know now, I wish I had stayed at St. Agnes.

My degree is from Texas A&M University.  I graduated in December of 1986 and started teaching at SAA in January of 1987.  I have been here and loving it ever since.

My husband, Mike Brady, and I live in Southwest Houston with our black Labrador dog, Coach.  She is a mess, with possibly multiple/split personalities.  Her nicknames include, “Devil Dog”, “CooCoo”, “the Beast”, and more.  Fortunately, during the school year she goes to work each day with my husband.  Mike is a veterinarian at Stafford Oaks Veterinary Hospital, so taking Coach to work is not unusual.

I have lots of interests other than math.  I love Astros baseball and would rather watch a baseball game than pretty much anything else on TV.  I also enjoy working puzzles of all kinds, including jigsaw, crossword and most recently Sudoku puzzles. When I have a lot of free time, I enjoy doing home projects like gardening, painting, sewing, and decorating.  I particularly like to “fix” things. It must be the “problem solver” in me or maybe I just like power tools.

I did not plan to become a math teacher when I started in college.  But fate stepped in and now I cannot imagine doing anything other than teaching high school math.  I am currently teaching algebra 2 and pre-calculus and have for many years. In a perfect world, I would also get to teach geometry.  It is my favorite of the high school math subjects.  I also co-sponsor the SAA Math Club.
