Midge Wische
Ms. Wische has been teaching at St. Agnes since January of 1980. As a teenager, she attended Forest Hills High School in Forest Hills, New York. She received her B.A. in Spanish and Sociology from the
University of Pittsburgh. Afterwards, she received her M.A.T. in Spanish from the
University of Virginia.
She has taught Spanish 1-4; however, she is only currently teaching Spanish 2 at St. Agnes Academy. Ms. Wische chose to teach at St. Agnes due to the quality of the curriculum and the students, the caring attitude of the administration, that camaraderie of the teachers, and the student-teacher ratio.
Other Interesting Facts:
- She would like to go on at least one archeological dig every two years.
- She loves antique shopping.
- She loves the beach and sailing, although she would never take a boat out alone.
- She began teaching when her youngest child was only three years old.
- She used to be actively involved in recruiting exchange students to SAA through World Learning (formerly known as The Experiment in International Living).<.li>
- She has placed three foreign exchange students at SAA (two from Russia and one from Germany).
- She would like to learn how to play the harp.
- She is a season ticket holder for the Opera and the Ballet.
- She enjoys taking advantage of cultural opportunities in Houston on the weekends.
- She attended Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan for four summers for a major in piano and ballet.
- She was a foreign exchange student through the World Learning program in Mexico.
- She has earned the Claus Nobel Educator of Distinction award.
