Conclusions
Your conclusion should re-evaluate the thesis in light of the evidence of the essay. That doesn't mean that you should restate your thesis as you stated it in the introduction, but it does mean that you should remind your reader of its point and assert its relevance.
Your conclusion should be short, perhaps one fourth of the page on a double spaced page. It shouldn't rehearse the points of the essay. Instead it should assert or speculate on what is at stake in your argument, posit the reasons for its relevance to the literary or historical period, and/or suggest ways that it illuminates philosophical or moral questions
Your conclusion should be written in lively prose style, perhaps returning to an image or scene with which you opened the paper, or providing an illustration or a metaphor that illustrates the point vividly.
